My name is Diamond Reynolds and ever since I, in a moment of shock, live streamed the shooting of my beloved boyfriend, Philando Castile, my life has never been the same.
That moment changed me and my four-year-old daughter forever
and there is no going back. But what there is— is forward.
That experience nearly broke me—I was arrested, ostracized, homeless and no one was willing to hire me.
But then it transformed me.
It transformed me into an outspoken advocate to end police brutality and passionate supporter of mental health and wellness, particularly for women and children who are recovering from trauma.
I am a long-time community organizer and I work with non-profits as a speaker and consultant on using my lived experience to create community-centered solutions for change.
I am the proud mother of two beautiful Black girls and together we are using art and creativity as part of our therapy and healing journey.
